The Field
Work in formation. Some of this is made. Some is being made. Some is still only a question.
Somatic AI and Deep Listening
What does it mean to listen to a machine with the body? What does a nervous system know that a dataset does not? The Brainbows are a nervous system made visible. The maps are a listening crisis made visible. They are the same investigation.
Lessons in Listening
Dartmoor · Oxen Park Farm · September 2026
I facilitated Ancestral Intelligence, AI Ethics and Living Systems at the Land Art Collective residency on Dartmoor. The same paired question, asked of maps, then asked of AI: what does this show us, what does it leave out.
Algorithms are signals. The problem isn't the signal, it's that we accept what they show us as fact, as cartography.
A 1610 Devon map, marked for an AI data campus it could never have shown. Each participant working the same two questions into their own sheet from an 1897 Times Atlas, real paper, not a photocopy. The scent and the age were part of what we were listening to.
Ancestral intelligence and artificial intelligence, held side by side, all week.
One amplifies what made it. The other amplifies who meets it.

The Other Map
To be made at Dartmoor, September 2026
A counter-cartography of indigenous and Global Majority AI. Not yet made.
Strait of Hormuz
Research
The seabed as contested territory. Undersea cables as the arteries of machine intelligence, running through borders drawn on paper.
Language and the Algorithm
Research
Arabic speakers rewriting their own language to survive automated moderation. Cartography as violence inside language.
